Description
Japanese azaleas are dwarf, slow-growing shrubs that maintain their ornamental, evergreen form for most of the year. They typically reach full growth after about 10 years. Thanks to their partial leaf loss in winter, they tolerate lower temperatures better than other rhododendron varieties. Their compact structure and dominant, dense habit make them perfect for planting in containers on patios and balconies. They also thrive in heathlands, rock gardens, and gardens, especially near ponds or water features, adding a romantic atmosphere. Azaleas bloom profusely, covering themselves with colorful flowers, and when planted in groups, they create charming monochrome or multicolored carpets. Flowers last for about 3 weeks, depending on prevailing weather conditions.
