About
Echinacea Kismet 'Intense Orange’ is a modern, very striking coneflower variety with intense colour and compact growth. Here are its detailed characteristics:
🌸 Flower colour:
- The flowers are vibrant orange, with an exceptionally saturated colour that is eye-catching.
- The centre of the inflorescence (cone) has a dark orange to brownish red hue, contrasting nicely with the petals.
- The colour lasts a long time and does not fade over time.
🌼 Flower structure:
- The flowers are single, typical of coneflowers, with lingual petals surrounding a central, cone-shaped centre.
- The petals are broad, slightly pendulous and symmetrically arranged.
- The flowers are approximately 8-10 cm in diameter, large and long-lasting.
- Flowering is very abundant and long -from June until the first frost.
🌿 Plant habit:
- Variety with a compact, clumped habit, heavily branched.
- It reaches a height of 35-45 cm and a width of up to about 40 cm.
- The plant is dense, holds its form well and does not decompose.
Requirements:
Conflowers are relatively easy plants to grow. They prefer a sunny position and the soil should be well-drained, humus and moist. The plants tolerate a wide range of soil pH, but grow best in soils with a pH close to neutral. They require a moderate amount of moisture, but do not tolerate excess water.
Characteristics:
Coneflowers are distinguished by their effective appearance, making them an excellent addition to flower gardens, flowerbeds and naturalistic gardens. Their flowers attract a range of pollinating insects, including bees and butterflies, adding life to the garden. Echinacea flowers can be cut and used in bouquets, adding to their versatility in garden space design. In addition, coneflowers are known for their medicinal properties.
Usage:
Coneflowers are widely used in horticulture and medicine. In addition to their ornamental qualities, they are known for their immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory effects. Echinacea raw material (mainly flowers and leaves) is used in the production of dietary supplements, teas and ointments. In addition, echinacea is also used in herbal therapy, e.g. for the treatment of wounds and skin irritations.
