Description
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Polar Bear’ impresses with its huge inflorescences, which can reach up to 40 cm in height when grown in the ground. The flowers appear from August to October. The flowers are initially limon-coloured, becoming snow-white with time, and by the end of summer slightly pink.
Polar Bear grows to about 1.5m tall and a similar width. It requires pruning in early spring to initiate stronger bushiness and thus more abundant flowering.
Polar Bear hydrangea is easy to grow. It is not susceptible to disease. It prefers a sunny or semi-shaded position, moderately fertile, moist, permeable and slightly acidic soil.
It looks beautiful planted in groups, both in home gardens and public greenery. Its inflorescences can be used after drying to make dry bouquets.
