The 'Cameo' variety was bred by Vance Hooper from New Zealand. It was created by crossing Magnolia x soulangeana ’Sweet Simplicity’ x Magnolia ’Black Tulip’

Variety description

• Appearance: The Magnolia ’Cameo’ is a shrub or small tree reaching a height of 3 to 5 meters. It is characterized by its compact shape and beautiful regular habit.
• Flowers: This variety is characterized by its large, cup-shaped flowers with a diameter of up to 15 cm. Their petals are thick and fleshy, making them resistant to damage from strong winds. The flowers are pink with white accents in the center, giving them an elegant appearance. It blooms in early spring, often before the leaves appear.

Requirements
Magnolia wymaga stanowiska słonecznego, najlepiej osłoniętego od silnych wiatrów, ziemi żyznej, przepuszczalnej o odczynie lekko kwaśnym (pH 5,5-6,5).
