Description
Magnolia 'Purple Globe' is a magnolia with fairly vigorous growth when young. It grows to 5-7m tall after 10 years.
Blooms profusely in late April/early May, before the leaves develop. Flowers very large with a spherical shape and size of 10 to 20 cm. Large oval petals, overlapping, on the outside dark pink with lighter shading, inside flower white. The petals retain their original shape when fully developed.
Magnolia requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic substrate and a sheltered, sunny position.
