Magnolia stellata to gatunek magnolii pochodzący z Japonii, jest obok magnolii pośredniej jedną z bardziej popularnych w Polsce odmian.
Magnolia stellata ’Rubra’ wolno rosnący mały krzew o zwartym, kulistym pokroju dorastające do 2,5 m wysokości. Odmiana zakwita bardzo wczesną wiosną.
Kwiaty są drobne i liczne o kolorze purpurowo-różowym przechodzącym w delikatnie różowe. Wnętrze kwiatów jest białe. Liście zielonkawo-żółte wiosną zmieniają kolor na żółto-brązowe.
Magnolia stellata ’Rubra’ jest polecana do mniejszych ogrodów z racji wzrostu i osiąganych przez roślinę wysokości.
