Magnolia x soulangeana is a hybrid of varieties Magnolia liliflora i Magnolia denudata, Bred in 1820-26 by botanist S. Soulange-Bodin in Fromont, France.
Magnolia x soulangeana 'Yellow Lantern’ rośnie silnie, pędy wyprostowane i sztywne, korona bardzo regularna osiąga do 5 m po 10 latach. Kwiaty ukazują się przed wykształceniem liśćmi pod koniec kwietnia. Przyjmują formę dużych 10-15 cm żółtych kielichów.
’Yellow Lantern” to jedna z najładniejszych żółtych magnolii. Polecana do każdego typu ogrodów.
