Description
Mia Marble is one of the two varieties with white flowers in the 'Marble' line of the Helleborus Gold Collection by Josef Heuger. Hellebores in this line bearing the 'Marble' component in their name signify that the leaves have marbled discolorations along the veins. All hellebores from this line have names beginning with the letter M, such as ' Macy Marble,' 'Maddy Marble,' 'Milla Marble,' 'Mindy Marble,' 'Megan Marble,' 'Mona Marble.'
Botanically, 'Ice N’ Roses Mia Marble' is classified as Helleborus x iburgensis, which is an interspecific hybrid of several hellebores: Helleborus x ballardiae (H. lividus x H. niger) x Helleborus x hybridus.
It is an evergreen perennial that requires a sheltered, semi-shaded location with humus-rich, well-drained soil with a neutral pH.
The species name was given in honor of the national garden show in Bad Iburg, Germany, in 2018.
