Description
Produced at the Ornamental Shrubs Nursery Zymon, azaleas belong, among others, to the Knap Hill group, classified as one of the most valuable. Shrubs from this group are characterized by great vigor and vitality, abundant flowering, and large flowers gathered in impressive inflorescences.
Azalea ‘Gibraltar‘ is a shrub with a spreading, upright habit and moderately vigorous growth. The flowers of the ‘Gibraltar‘ variety are arranged in spherical inflorescences. The orange petals of the variety are distinctly fringed and change color to orange-red as they bloom. Azaleas require a sunny or semi-shaded position, acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soil, moderately moist.
The variety received the AGM Award in 1993.
