Description
Kousa dogwood is one of the most decorative trees in the garden. It comes from Japan, China, and Korea. Its unique loose, layered crown makes it an original element of the garden. The flowers of the kousa dogwood are not very visible or particularly decorative. The main ornament of these plants is the bracts, which surround the flowers and come in various colors and sizes.
Cornus kousa 'China Girl' is a Dutch variety that grows up to 4-5 meters, forming a tree or shrub with a loose habit, blooming at a young age. The flowers are elegant in their simplicity, surrounded by cream-white bracts resembling wide petals.
'China Girl' blooms regularly in late May and June. In summer, the dark green leaves turn to beautiful red and orange colors in autumn.
Kousa dogwoods require fertile, well-drained, slightly acidic, or neutral soil.
The best locations are sunny or semi-shaded areas, sheltered from the wind.
