Description
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Magical Mont Blanc’® is a variety that has very large cone-shaped inflorescences reminiscent of the mountain peak of Mont Blanc - hence the variety's name. The inflorescences are initially cream-white reaching pure white over time. They are set on short stiff stems.
The shrub is very compact and reaches 1.5 m in height.
It exudes elegance and uniqueness. It will be an ornamental in any garden. It is also suitable for bouquets due to the long shelf life of the flowers after cutting.
‘Magical Mont Blanc’® is a hardy variety (zone 5), requires fertile, slightly acidic and permeable soil, and a sunny or partly shaded position. Annual fertilisation of hydrangeas results in their very abundant flowering and juicy flower colours. Bouquet hydrangeas start flowering in June and continue flowering until autumn.
As soon as the inflorescences have fully developed, they can be cut and dried to be used for dry bouquets in winter.
Plant entered in the Plant Novelty Competition of the GREEN TO LIFE exhibition in 2019 by BREEDERPLANTS VOF.
