Description
Magnolia 'Sarah's Favourite' has the form of a small tree or large shrub with an oval and loose habit, a strong-growing magnolia that grows to a height of 4m. The variety was named after the founder of the Arboretum at Gloster - Sarah Gladney.
It is classed as a fairly late flowering variety, which minimises the possibility of frost damage to the flowers.
Magnolia 'Sarah's Favourite' is a cultivar with large pink-purple overlapping petals, the colouring at the base turning to a pink stripe in the middle. The inside of the flowers is white, the flowers are delicately fragrant.
Magnolia requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic substrate and a sheltered, sunny position.
