Description
Carpinus betulus 'Lucas' is a variety with a narrow, columnar habit. It reaches about 8-10 meters in height. The leaves are large, up to 12 cm long. In autumn they turn yellow. Sunny and shady position. It grows best on fresh, loamy and fertile, neutral or alkaline soils. The tree, due to its narrow habit and size, is perfect for street planting, and also works well in small home gardens. The molded crown makes an interesting geometric element.
