Description
The variety 'Slender Silhouette' was introduced for sale by Don Shadow of Shadow Nurseries in Winchester, Tennessee/USA.
It has a slender, columnar habit. It grows up to 12 m tall and 1.50 to 2 m wide. The leaves, which resemble maple leaves, discolor in autumn in various colors, purple-brown, scarlet, red and orange-yellow. Requires a sunny position, fertile, humus soil, permeable, with a slightly acidic or neutral pH.
Perfect for both small and large gardens for planting singly, in groups or in rows. In the first years it is recommended to protect it for the winter.
Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette' was awarded a 2010 gold medal by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
