Description
Botanically, the variety ‘Monte Christo’® from the Snow Roses series is classified as a hybrid of the species Helleborus x ericsmithii.
Helleborus HGC® ‘Monte Christo’® is one of the hellebores belonging to the Helleborus Gold Collection, which was bred by Josef Heuger.
Some varieties start blooming as early as November and are cold and snow resistant. Others begin to bloom in late winter and continue blooming until spring. Hellebores are hardy, low-maintenance, perennial plants that should not be missing in any garden. They are also suitable for planting in containers on balconies, terraces, etc.
The ‘Monte Christo’® variety begins flowering in December. Numerous cream-colored, slightly green flowers on red stems beautifully stand out against the backdrop of silvery-blueish, evergreen leaves, which distinguish this hellebore variety.
This evergreen perennial requires a sheltered, semi-shaded location, rich, well-drained soil with a neutral pH.
