Description
Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' is a medium-height tree with a regular, narrow-conical crown. The crown gradually widens in later age. It grows up to 15 m tall and 4 m wide. Leaves are light green, turning yellow in autumn. Sunny and shady position. Prefers fresh and fertile soil, neutral or alkaline. It can be planted both singly and in groups, rows and formed hedges. Geometric and regular form suits historical gardens. In trunk form good for street planting.
