Description
‘Macy Marble‘ from the ‘Marble‘ line of the Helleborus Gold Collection by Josef Heuger are hellebores that include the term ‘Marble‘ in their name, indicating that their leaves have marble-like discolorations along the veins. All hellebores in this line have names starting with the letter M, such as ‘Maddy Marble‘, ‘Megan Marble‘, ‘Mia Marble‘, ‘Mindy Marble‘, ‘Milla Marble‘, ‘Mona Marble‘.
Botanically, ‘Ice N’ Roses Macy‘ is classified as Helleborus x iburgensis, which is an interspecific hybrid of several hellebores: Helleborus x ballardiae (H. lividus x H. niger) x Helleborus x hybridus.
‘Macy Marble‘ is an evergreen perennial that requires a sheltered, semi-shaded location with humus-rich, well-drained soil with a neutral pH.
The species name was given on the occasion of the State Garden Exhibition in Bad Iburg, Germany, in 2018.
