Description
Botanically, the variety ‘Wintergold‘ from the Christmas Roses series belongs to the species Helleborus niger. Other varieties we offer include: Helleborus HGC® ‘John’, Helleborus HGC® ‘Joel’, and Helleborus HGC® ‘Jerry’.
‘Wintergold‘ is one of the many hellebores belonging to the Helleborus Gold Collection, bred by the grower Josef Heuger.
Hellebores from the Christmas Roses series are hardy, easy-to-care-for, perennial plants that begin to bloom as early as November and enchant with their white flowers throughout the winter. They are also suitable for planting in containers on balconies, terraces, etc.
‘Wintergold’ is the most popular variety from the Christmas Roses line. It owes its name to its flowers, whose central part, due to numerous stamens, is golden-yellow.
This evergreen perennial requires a sheltered, semi-shaded location with loamy, well-drained soil and a neutral pH level.
