Description

Deciduous Azaleas, belonging to the genus Rhododendron from the heather family (Ericaceae), are valued for their beautiful flowers and ornamental leaves. Cultivating large-flowered azaleas is undemanding, mainly because they are decidedly more frost-resistant than Japanese azaleas and rhododendrons. They can be planted individually or in groups, they thrive in locations along the edges of ponds or lakes, and they tolerate pruning and shaping. They also perform well when planted in containers or flowerbeds.
In late May and June, azaleas dazzle with a profusion of colorful flowers, while in autumn, you can admire their beautifully colored leaves reflecting all the hues of the Polish autumn.
Produced at the Zymon Ornamental Shrubs Nursery, azaleas, among others, belong to the Knap Hill group, considered one of the most valuable. Shrubs belonging to this group are characterized by their large vigor and vitality, abundant flowering, and large flowers gathered in magnificent inflorescences.
AzaleaHomebush‘ is a moderately vigorous azalea with an upright, loose habit and seasonal leaves. The flowers are medium-sized, star-shaped, intensely pink with slightly wavy petals. The flowers, gathered in about 16 pieces in perfectly round inflorescences resembling pompoms, are quite resistant to powdery mildew. Azaleas require a sunny or semi-shaded location, acidic, humus-rich, and well-drained soil, moderately moist.
AzaleaHomebush‘ has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
