Description

Azalea japonica is a dwarf shrub with a slow growth rate, reaching full height on average after 10 years. Thanks to their partial loss of leaves in winter, they tolerate lower temperatures better than other rhododendron varieties. Their compact structure and dense form make Japanese azaleas an excellent choice for planting in containers on terraces and balconies. In gardens, they blend particularly well near ponds or pools, adding charm and a romantic atmosphere. Their abundant flowering covers the entire shrubs, and when planted in groups, they create beautiful, single-colored or multicolored carpets. The flowers last for about 3 weeks, depending on weather conditions.Azalea japonica ‘Canzonetta‘ is a dwarf shrub with a flat-rounded habit. It blooms abundantly with flowers up to 6cm in size, semi-double, red-carmine to reddish-pink. It won a silver medal at the BUGA exhibition in 1991. Azaleas require sunny or semi-shaded locations, acidic, humus-rich, and permeable soil.
