Magnolia 'Lemon Star' has the form of a small tree with a spherical and upright habit, growing to about 5m tall.
Magnolia 'Lemon Star' is a relatively new cultivar selected at the Wespelaar Arboretum located in Belgium by Ph de Spoelberch.
Flowering starts in late April and early May. A variety with charming greenish-light yellow flowers, whose colour changes from greenish to cream yellow during flowering. The flowers, made up of 6 petals ( tepals ), reach a diameter of 20 cm when fully open.
Magnolia 'Lemon Star' is very frost hardy. Recommended for small gardens.
Magnolia 'Lemon Star' requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic soil and a shady, sunny position.
