Description
Azalea japonica is a dwarf shrub with a slow growth rate, reaching full height on average after 10 years. Thanks to their partial loss of leaves in winter, they tolerate lower temperatures better than other rhododendron varieties. Their compact structure and dense form make Japanese azaleas an excellent choice for planting in containers on terraces and balconies. In gardens, they blend particularly well near ponds or pools, adding charm and a romantic atmosphere. They bloom profusely, covering themselves with colorful flowers, and when planted in groups, they create beautiful, single-colored or multicolored carpets. The flowers last for about 3 weeks, depending on prevailing weather conditions.
Azalea japonica ‘Geisha Red‘ is a semi-evergreen shrub with a compact, spherical-flattened habit. Its flowers have a vivid red color. Azaleas require sunny or semi-shaded locations, acidic, humus-rich, and permeable soil.
