Description

Japanese azaleas are small shrubs that grow slowly, reaching full maturity on average after a decade. Thanks to their partial loss of leaves in winter, they cope better with lower temperatures than other varieties of rhododendrons. Their compact and compact forms make them perfect for containers on terraces and balconies. They also blend in beautifully in heathlands or gardens, especially near ponds or pools. They bloom profusely, creating beautiful, single-colored or multicolored carpets that last for about 3 weeks, depending on weather conditions.
Azalea japonica ‘Purpurkissen‘ is an evergreen, dwarf, very wide shrub with a compact habit. The leaves are leathery and glossy, turning brown in autumn and winter. The flowers are crimson-red. Azaleas require sunny or semi-shaded locations, acidic, humus-rich, and well-draining soil.
