Description
Fagus sylvatica 'Rohan Obelisk' is a columnar beech variety with purple-brown and glossy leaves. It grows after 15 years to an impressive: 7 m high and 2 m wide.
It prefers fertile soils with moderate moisture. The best position is sunny, but it tolerates partial shade. It is used for planting in gardens, urban green spaces, as a solitary, avenue and shelter tree.
It tolerates pruning very well, so even very narrow hedges of any height can be formed from it.
