Botanically, Hamamelis intermedia (Intermediate Witch Hazel) is a hybrid of Japanese witch hazel H.japonica and Chinese witch hazel H.mollis. It's worth noting that witch hazels bloom when most plants in the garden are still dormant. Therefore, it's advisable to plant them in locations that will allow us to fully appreciate their striking blossoms and large, dark green leaves. Trees can be planted individually or in groups.
Hamamelis intermedia ‘Aphrodite‘ is a robust shrub with fragrant orange-red flowers and long petals. Its leaves turn from golden-yellow to deep red in autumn.
