Description
Botanically, Hamamelis intermedia (Intermediate Witch Hazel) is a hybrid of Japanese Witch Hazel H.japonica and Chinese Witch Hazel H.mollis. Witch hazels usually bloom when most plants in the garden are still dormant. Therefore, it's advisable to choose locations that allow full enjoyment of their charming flowering and lush green foliage during the growing season. Witch hazels can be planted either individually or in groups.
Hamamelis intermedia ‘Arnold Promise‘ belongs to the fast-growing varieties with a compact form. It blooms profusely with yellow, fragrant flowers that persist on the plant for a long time. The leaves turn golden-brown in autumn. Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award in 1993 for the best garden plant.
