Description
Botanically, Hamamelis intermedia (Intermediate Witch Hazel) is a hybrid of Japanese witch hazel H.japonica and Chinese witch hazel H.mollis. Witch hazels typically bloom when most plants in the garden are still dormant. Therefore, it's worth choosing locations that will fully allow you to enjoy their charming blossoms and lush green foliage during the growing season. Witch hazels can be planted both individually and in groups.
Hamamelis intermedia ‘Jelena‘ is a large deciduous shrub with a spreading habit, featuring broad leaves that turn red and yellow in autumn. Its flowers are striking copper-orange, with a diameter of up to 2.5 cm.Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit in 1996 for the best garden plant.
