Description
Magnolia 'Royal Crown' has the form of a small tree, it is a fast-growing variety growing to a height of 7m with a columnar and loose habit. It is recommended for larger gardens and landscaped areas.
The large and narrow flower calyxes are on the outside purple at the base transforming intolight pink at the top of the petals, the inside of the flowers white. The flowers before full opening resemble a crown hence the cultivar name - 'Royal Crown'. When fully open, the flowers reach 30 cm in diameter. The flowers are delicately fragrant.
Magnolia 'Royal Crown' requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic substrate and a sheltered, sunny position.
