About
Echinacea Kismet 'White’ is an elegant variety from the Kismet series that impresses with its pure white flower colour and compact, clumped habit. Ideal for naturalistic gardens, flowerbeds and container plantings. Here is a detailed description:
🌸 Flower colour:
- The flowers are snow white, with a soft, cool tone, giving the plant a fresh and light appearance.
- The centre of the inflorescence (cone) is greenish yellow to light green, which creates a subtle contrast with the white petals.
- The flower colour lasts a long time and does not fade in the sun.
🌼 Flower structure:
- The flowers are single, with broad, lingual petals arranged radially around a convex centre.
- The petals are firm, slightly curved downwards, maintaining a regular shape.
- The flowers are approximately 8-10 cm in diameter, showy and very decorative.
- Flowering lasts from June to October, and is intense and long-lasting.
🌿 Plant habit:
- A variety with a stretched, clumped habit, typical of the Kismet series.
- It reaches a height of approx. 40–45 cm and a similar width.
- The plant is dense, spreads well and maintains its form without the need for support.
Requirements:
Conflowers are relatively easy plants to grow. They prefer a sunny position and the soil should be well-drained, humus and moist. The plants tolerate a wide range of soil pH, but grow best in soils with a pH close to neutral. They require a moderate amount of moisture, but do not tolerate excess water.
Characteristics:
Coneflowers are distinguished by their effective appearance, making them an excellent addition to flower gardens, flowerbeds and naturalistic gardens. Their flowers attract a range of pollinating insects, including bees and butterflies, adding life to the garden. Echinacea flowers can be cut and used in bouquets, adding to their versatility in garden space design. In addition, coneflowers are known for their medicinal properties.
Usage:
Coneflowers are widely used in horticulture and medicine. In addition to their ornamental qualities, they are known for their immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory effects. Echinacea raw material (mainly flowers and leaves) is used in the production of dietary supplements, teas and ointments. In addition, echinacea is also used in herbal therapy, e.g. for the treatment of wounds and skin irritations.
Why plant coneflowers in your garden?
- Easy to grow: Coneflowers are undemanding and adapt to different soil conditions.
- They bloom for a long time: Echinacea flowers bloom from summer to autumn, allowing you to enjoy their beauty for a longer period.
- Attract insects: These plants encourage beneficial insects to visit, which supports the ecosystem in the garden.
- Health-enhancing properties: Their health properties can support the body's natural immunity.
- Aesthetics: Hedgehogs add colour and charm to the garden, bringing natural beauty to every corner.
In summary, coneflowers are not only attractive ornamental plants, but also valuable herbs that are worth planting in any garden.
