Magnolia ’Big Dude’ to niewielkie szybko rosnące drzewo, dorasta do 4 metrów. Bardzo atrakcyjna odmiana do ogrodów i terenów zieleni. Odmiana wyselekcjonowana w 1989 przez P. Savage w Bloomfield Hills, Michigan USA.
Magnolia ’Big Dude’ wytwarza duże, pachnące kwiaty składające się z 9-12 mięsistych płatków białych od wewnątrz i różowych od nasady po zewnętrznej stronie. Kwiaty osiągają do 30 cm średnicy. Liście żywo zielone z jaśniejszą spodnią stroną.
Magnolia requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic soil and a shady, sunny position.
