Description

Magnolia x soulangeana is a hybrid of varieties Magnolia liliflora i Magnolia denudata, Bred in 1820-26 by botanist S. Soulange-Bodin in Fromont, France.
Magnolia x soulangeana 'Winelight’ is a small tree or shrub with a loose habit and fast growth rate reaches up to 5 m after 10 years. At the end of April and the beginning of May on the twigs, flowers appear are exceptionally showy cup-shaped and delicately fragrant, reach a diameter of 10 to 12 cm and consist of fleshy petals. On the outside, the flowers are purple-red a whitish inside With a slight pink tint.
Winelight is very attractive and sought after. 

Magnolia requires a humus, permeable, slightly acidic soil and a shady, sunny position.
