Magnolia ’Sunray’ posiada formę małego drzewa o rozłożystym i wyprostowanym pokroju, jest to szybko rosnąca odmiana, szczególnie w młodym wieku, dorasta do wysokości 4-3 m. Wyhodowana przez A. Khera w 1995 roku.
Nadaje się do każdego ogrodu. Jest zaliczana do odmian późno kwitnących, kwitnienie rozpoczyna w maju.
Magnolia ’Sunray’ to odmiana o kwiatach żółtych z delikatnym czerwonym odcieniem u wewnętrznej podstawy płatków Na zewnętrznej stronie płatki ( tepale ) przybierają delikatny zielony odcień. Kwiaty wydzielają miły zapach.
