Magnolia x soulangeana is a hybrid of varieties Magnolia liliflora i Magnolia denudata, Bred in 1820-26 by botanist S. Soulange-Bodin in Fromont, France.
Odmian Magnolia x soulangeana 'Lennei Alba’ została wyhodowana w Zurychu w 1905 r, a wprowadzona do sprzedaży w Holandii w 1930 roku przez W. Keessena.
Magnolia x soulangeana 'Lennei Alba’ to odmiana przyjmująca formę rozłożystego krzewu, bądź małego drzewa o średniej sile wzrostu, osiąga około 5 m wysokości.
Duże 12 cm i pachnące kwiaty ukazują się przed wykształceniem liśćmi. Przyjmują formę dużych śnieżno-białych pękatych kielichów, kwiaty są jednokolorowe. Płatki (tepale) duże, mięsiste i owalne lekko wywinięte na zewnątrz przy wierzchołku, częściowo zachodzące na siebie.
’Lennei Alba’ dość dobrze znosi mrozy. Polecana do każdego typu ogrodów, jedna z piękniejszych białych odmian magnolii.
